Colorado School of Mines ranked number one engineering school in U.S.

College Factual recently released a list of 281 engineering schools, and Goldens Colorado School of Mines earned the top spot, beating out notable institutions such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Georgia Institute of Technology. Also, the school announced that it just completed its most successful fundraising year with $47.8 million in gifts and $24.4 million in private non-governmental research funding.

Mines professors discover new type of fuel cell that could more efficiently power your house

A team of two metallurgical and materials engineering professors and three mechanical engineering professors at Colorado School of Mines has been awarded $1 million through Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy's Reliable Electricity Based on Electrochemical Systems Program to develop high-efficiency, medium-temperature fuel cells that can produce electricity from natural gases.

Renewable Fuels put billions into Colorado Economy

The renewable fuel industry puts billions of dollars into Colorado's economy and supports thousands of jobs, according to a new study from The Fuels America coalition. Renewable fuels, including ethanol and biodiesel made from plants such as corn, grass or woody biomass and algae, account for nearly 10 percent of the fuel supply across the nation, according to the coalition of agribusiness groups and companies.

U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Opens Permanent Satellite Office in Colorado
